The structure beneath the work
You cannot build a strong future on a false foundation.
A false foundation does not mean you are broken or to blame. It means some beliefs, conclusions and survival responses were formed under conditions you did not choose, and may no longer be strong enough to support the life you want to build.
A structured, trauma-informed way of understanding what shaped you, seeing your patterns clearly, and choosing what you build next. It provides the structure beneath my coaching, group programmes and selected organisational training.
The idea
When a building keeps cracking, you do not keep repainting the walls.
You look at what it is standing on.
The crack is not the problem. It is information about the foundation.
Something similar happens in our inner lives. So many of us are trying to build confidence, relationships and a settled life on a foundation that was laid for us long ago, by other people, often through harm.
When the same patterns keep returning, it helps to look beneath them, rather than only managing what shows on the surface.
The Foundation Framework™ is a way of doing exactly that. Inspecting the foundation honestly, understanding what is underneath, and rebuilding on ground you have chosen.
It does not rush you, and it does not ask you to relive what happened. When things begin to make sense, there is more room for clarity, choice, and self-understanding.
The Six Foundations™
The Framework moves through six foundations. The order matters. Each one rests on the one before it, so the work is steady rather than overwhelming.
Foundation one
What shaped me?
Beginning to see the experiences, relationships and messages that formed how you see yourself, without letting them define who you are.
Foundation two
What am I built on?
Looking honestly at the beliefs, thinking, perceptions and influences you came to accept as simply the way things are.
Foundation three
What are my patterns showing me?
Noticing the patterns that keep appearing, with curiosity instead of criticism. The crack is information. It is not you.
Foundation four
What is actually true?
Telling the difference between what happened, what you concluded because of it, and what is true enough to build on. This is not positive thinking. It is more accurate thinking.
Foundation five
How do I build differently?
Turning insight into one small, real change. Not your whole life. One brick, laid differently.
Foundation six
What will I pass forward?
Deciding what stops with you, and what you want to carry into how you live, parent, work and treat yourself from here.
By the end, you have more than reflection. You have a plan for something you are ready to build differently, in your own words.
Where it came from
The Foundation Framework™ was developed through my own rebuilding, five years of group-programme delivery, and my mindset and trauma-informed coaching practice. It is informed by recognised trauma-informed and mindset coaching principles, while remaining a non-clinical coaching and educational framework.
From 2017 to 2022 I created and ran Building From Broken Pieces, a six-month programme for survivors of trauma, abuse, forced marriage and trafficking, which attracted National Lottery funding in its later years. Working alongside those women, I kept seeing the same thing. Awareness of what had happened was not enough on its own. What often helped women move forward was understanding what they had come to believe about themselves because of it, and being given a steady, structured way to rebuild from there.
That is what the Framework does. It is trauma-informed and non-clinical. It supports reflection, education, coaching, boundaries and rebuilding. It does not diagnose or treat, and it never replaces specialist or medical support.
How it is used
The same six Foundations shape my coaching, group programmes and selected organisational training,
adapted to the people and setting involved.
The Framework is worked through at your own pace, privately, across a coaching relationship shaped around you.
Explore coaching →In The Rebuilding Room™, the six foundations are worked through over six weeks, in a small, closed group of women who understand.
The Rebuilding Room →In organisational training, selected principles from the Framework are adapted to help teams look beneath behaviour, question assumptions, and respond more appropriately within their professional role.
Training for organisations →Delivered responsibly
The Foundation Framework™ is non-clinical. No one is ever required to disclose personal trauma or relive what happened. Work can focus on a belief, a pattern or a feeling without recounting events. Where there is serious distress or risk, specialist and statutory support always takes priority. Curiosity replaces blame, and faith or culture is never used to excuse harm or pressure forgiveness. The universal core of the Framework is not dependent on a particular faith. Faith can be included where it is meaningful, appropriate and explicitly welcomed by the individual or organisation. It is never assumed or imposed. The practitioner supports the build. You retain ownership of what you build.
Where to begin
Whether you are rebuilding your own life, or leading a team who supports others, there is a way in that fits.
